After four years of anticipation, the Junji Ito series adaption for Uzumaki is set to premiere on Adult Swim in September.
Just like the book, Uzumaki is about a town drawn crazy by spirals, and as the story continues, things grow intense and demented.
If there's anyone who's excited to see this show, it's most definitely me.
Since I was in middle school (which frankly isn't that long ago), I've been obsessed with the utterly horrific stories and images of Ito. There's nothing that gets me crawling out of my skin more than the images that man is able to conjure up.
And if there was one thing that made my pandemic a bit less stressful, it was hearing the announcement of this series, and seeing the trailer that accompanied it. It was beautiful, the attention to detail was insane. And to wake up today and see that there's now an official release date has made me nothing short of excited.
The series premieres September 28th on Adult Swim, and will also be on Max the next day.
